We are currently looking for a passionate and analytical Integration & Failure Analysis Expert to join our R&D team and support the development of high-efficiency perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells. Your Role: Driving Integration and Deep-Dive Analysis
As a key member of our dynamic and international R&D team, you will play a crucial role in advancing our perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell technology by understanding and optimizing process interactions, material interfaces, and device performance.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Integration Excellence:
- Analyse and develop a deep understanding of interactions between process steps and functional layers, including perovskite-based absorber stacks, in tandem solar cells
- Evaluate the impact of process variations on device performance, yield, and reliability
- Identify and implement integrated optimization strategies across the full process chain
Failure Analysis & Root Cause Identification:
- Perform deep-dive failure analyses when efficiency, stability, or yield targets are not met
- Combine and interpret process data, inline monitoring results, and imaging techniques such as PL/EL
- Identify root causes and systematically build failure catalogues and knowledge databases
Data-Driven Problem Solving:
- Apply statistical methods to correlate process parameters with device performance
- Design and execute experiments to validate hypotheses and eliminate failure modes
- Collaborate closely with material, process, and production teams
Innovation Implementation:
- Translate analytical insights into process and technology improvements
- Support global production sites in implementing solutions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing robustness
Technology Leadership:
- Drive innovative approaches to enhance efficiency, yield, and long-term reliability
- Actively contribute to technology roadmaps and future concepts
Your Profile: Expertise Meets Analytical Mindset
We are looking for a highly motivated scientist or engineer with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for understanding complex systems.
Your Qualifications:
- Degree in science or engineering (PhD preferred)
- Experience in photovoltaics, semiconductor technology, or related high-tech industries
- Strong understanding of process integration and/or failure analysis
- Experience with data analysis, statistics, and ideally Design of Experiments (DoE)
- Knowledge of imaging techniques such as PL/EL is a plus
- Experience with perovskite solar cells or perovskite-silicon tandem technologies is highly desirable (not mandatory)
- Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings clearly
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in an international environment
- Very good written and spoken English (German is a plus)
- Willingness to travel internationally
