R&D process expert / scientist / engineer (m/w/d) interconnection technologies

We are currently looking for a R&D process expert (m/f/d) for the Product Reliability development team. This is specifically about the development and implementation of new interconnection technologies for the successful introduction of novel solar cell and module technologies into mass production.

Your role: You will drive innovation in the field of tandem module technology

As a vital member of our dynamic and international R&D team, you will play a crucial role in developing and improving our interconnection processes for high efficiency perovskite-silicon tandem solar modules. Your expertise will not only help strengthen our technology leadership but also help drive innovations toward commercial-scale applications.

Your main tasks:    

  • You are part of the development of high efficiency solar cells and innovative solar modules with a focus on processes and materials for cell interconnection such as soldering, conductive bonding or alternative methods.
  • You evaluate new technologies and machine concepts and accompany their testing at global machine suppliers or institutes.
  • You make suggestions for machine improvements and contribute to machine specifications.
  • You develop, optimize and implement the processes for cell interconnection for current and future cell and module generations and you are responsible for their transfer to pilot and production lines.
  • You will work across teams in our research and development division on specific issues relating to our new products.
  • You will support ongoing development projects and thus contribute to achieving the division's and company's goals.

Your profile: expertise meets passion

  • We are looking for a self-driven and innovative scientist or engineer with a robust background in solar cell interconnection technology. You have a degree, ideally in the field of materials science, natural sciences or engineering.
  • You have professional experience and expertise in the functionality and manufacturing of solar modules.
  • You also have process knowledge of interconnection methods such as soldering, conductive bonding or alternative methods.
  • You are experienced in the use of statistical data analysis and test planning.
  • You are a strong communicator and bring your systematic, analytical way of thinking to development tasks as a team player.
  • You have very good German and English skills and a willingness to travel worldwide round off your profile.
